RightCom is looking for a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer. You will work as a valued team member of an Agile software team driving a culture of developing high quality software products meeting customer needs in a competitive and exciting work environment. As a software quality leader, you will contribute to the teams’ delivery of high quality software through quality analysis, collaboration with Agile Scrum Teams around quality, test automation, and more. From requirements through design, code development, testing and release.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop test strategies and create appropriate test harnesses.
• Work with a team of quality engineering professions to ensure the highest quality product delivery.
• Communicate with users, other technical teams, and product teams to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization.
• Evaluate product functionality and create test strategies and test cases to assess product quality.
• Establish and enforce professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Develop and implement automation plan to support RightCom XP software launches.
• Work with Products Managers and Software Development Engineers to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented.
• Drive the creation of global test plans and test cases.
• Review user interfaces for conformity and functionality.
• Efficiently execute test cases across all functional and UI areas of our products.
• Review product user interface for conformity to global design guidelines.
• Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution.
• Interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 3+ years experience in a test or development role as part of a software product development organization which has delivered enterprise-class SaaS products.
• 3+ years of experience testing on device firmware or mobile devices.
• 3+ years of experience in Python/Java/Javascript/HTML5 coding and user-level automation.
• Expert knowledge of relational databases and query languages such as SQL.
• Knowledge of QA methodology and tools.
• Demonstrates skilled understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements and their priority within the backlog.
• Deep familiarity with Test Driven Development and experience in automated API based testing.
• Deep familiarity with Agile concepts, preferably Scrum.
• Experience working closely with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements.
• Ability to triage issues, react well to changes, work with teams and ability to multi-task on multiple products and projects.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Familiarity with executing performance, longevity and device interoperability tests in the confines of the mobile application space.
• Shows creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness.
• Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings.
• Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts.
• Ability to take ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members.
• Provides expertise in Design, Architecture, Development and Shipping from Quality Engineering perspective.
• Drive pair programming practices and code reviews across the team.
• Drives initiatives to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems.
• Drives compliance with products & processes to assure business compliance.
• Influences and energizes others toward the common vision and goal.
