RightCom is looking for a Senior Manager to oversee and manage our Technical Operations group. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in managing teams of at least 5 people (IT, DevOps/Infrastructure and Quality Engineering) with a strong belief in the most up to date Engineering philosophies (Agile, “Infrastructure as Code”, etc.).The position is based in one of our offices (Abidjan, Accra, Cotonou or Lagos).

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Manager, Technical Operations is responsible for the 24×7 operation and availability of the technical infrastructure on which the RightCom platform and applications run. The lead will manage technical operations with the following areas of responsibility:

• Production operations including SRE
• Dev Ops
• IT
• Identity & Security
• Database Operations
• NOC

The lead will help with Code Review, design/architecture discussions and escalated technical issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 3+ years of experience as Manager.
• At least 1 year experience managing and overseeing multiple teams.
• 5+ years of prior experience in a hands-on role as a Systems, DevOps, Infrastructure or Site Reliability Engineer.
• Strong experience managing, scaling and improving cloud environments.
• Strong experience driving 99.99% availability of a production infrastructure.
• Strong experience improving build and deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge and prior experience automating infrastructure using Configuration Management (Chef, Ansible, etc.), Hashicorp tools (Terraform, Vagrant, etc.) OR containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, etc.).
• Strong experience with monitoring, logging and securing a Production Infrastructure.
• Expertise in hiring, training and mentoring of staff.
• Experience working with engineering in architecting deployment for scale Experience globalizing services and addressing challenges like PCI, GDPR, Safe Harbor B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of the latest Information Security practices.
• Ability to code in Python or similar languages.
• Experience managing a GCP environment.
• Strong experience managing multiple groups to KPIs.
• Ability to successfully communicating to Senior Leadership (VP, C-level, etc.).
